1923 is one of two new animation loops directed by Max Hattler, inspired by the work of French outsider artist Augustin Lesage. 1923 is based on Lesage’s painting ‘A symbolic Composition of the Spiritual World’ from 1923.

Silence est une Performance Live Cinema autour de la sensation d’absence et d’intemporalité. Différents espaces d’une zone navale sont investis par un danseur pour faire acte, et ainsi soulever la sensation du vide.
Silence is a live cinema performance about emptiness and intemporality sensations, with a dancer performance recorded in a port area.

The Canadian audiovisual software company Derivative Inc., who visited us at Karakuş last year to present their software, teamed up with electronic music legend Richie Hawtin and called out a contest for live visuals for the Plastikman tour 2010.
Hawtin and Derivative have now packaged and made available for download powerful tools along with 4 Plastikman tracks to enable everyone with the same capabilities to produce their own visuals in a real-time generative environment.

The Hamburg based popband Tripping The Light Fantastic published their new beautiful music video, shot with a HD video capable photo camera. All production was done by the band and their friends. Directed by Frederic Gmeiner. Here’s also part 1 of the making-of. Part 2 coming soon.
A group of drawings was selected. Each drawing represents an idea created at a point in time. The idea is an emotion or expression of a particular state of mind, with all that may be in its conscious or sub-conscious state. Standing inside the projected image with and sometimes without knowing what drawing is displayed a gesture is selected. The goal being to try to augment the drawing with a physical presence. The mask obscures the face so that the lines of the drawing become the facial expression.
Video created on February 13th will be on display at the Cafe, Cliche Brünn in Brno, Czech Rep. from February 14th through next month.
